# ✦ ─ Common Sense & Loopholes

The rules cannot cover every possible situation.

Players are expected to use reasonable judgement, follow the spirit of the rules, and avoid behaviour that is clearly harmful, unfair, disruptive, or dishonest even when it is not specifically listed.

***

### Do Not Exploit Loopholes

Do not deliberately search for technicalities or gaps in the wording of the rules to justify harmful behaviour.

Examples include:

* doing something because the exact method is not named
* slightly changing prohibited behaviour to avoid a filter
* claiming a rule only applies in one location or format
* using another player or account to do something for you
* repeatedly testing how far you can push a rule
* finding ways around limits, cooldowns, or restrictions
* arguing that something is allowed because staff have not warned you yet

The intention behind a rule matters, not only its exact wording.

***

### Ask Before Acting

When you are unsure whether something is allowed, ask staff through a support ticket before doing it.

Do not assume that silence, lack of detection, or another player’s opinion means something is permitted.

Approval for one specific situation does not automatically apply to every similar situation.

***

### Do Not Encourage Rule-Breaking

Do not persuade, pressure, assist, or encourage another player to break the rules.

This includes:

* teaching someone how to exploit a bug
* supplying prohibited mods or clients
* helping someone evade a punishment
* storing duplicated or stolen items for another player
* acting as a middleman for advertising
* daring someone to test a rule
* coordinating disruptive behaviour

Helping someone break a rule may be treated as participating in the offence.

***

### Attempts Still Count

An unsuccessful attempt to break a rule may still result in action.

This includes attempts to:

* cheat or exploit
* steal or grief
* evade a punishment
* deceive staff
* access restricted areas
* crash or damage the server
* scam another player
* bypass account or purchase limits

The fact that an attempt failed does not make it acceptable.

***

### Context and Intent

Staff may consider the full context of an incident, including:

* intent
* severity
* impact on others
* whether the behaviour was repeated
* previous warnings or punishments
* whether the player was honest and cooperative
* whether the issue was reported quickly
* whether reasonable steps were taken to prevent harm

Accidents and honest mistakes may be handled differently from deliberate abuse, but players are still expected to correct any harm caused.

***

### Staff Discretion

Staff may take action against behaviour that negatively affects the server or community even when it is not explicitly written in the rules.

This may include behaviour that:

* creates an unfair advantage
* harms or targets another player
* disrupts the community
* damages server performance
* bypasses intended systems
* creates a safety or security risk
* repeatedly causes avoidable problems

Staff discretion will be based on evidence and context, not personal dislike.

***

### Rule Changes

Rules may be updated as the server grows, new plugins are added, or new situations arise.

Major changes may be announced through the Discord server or other official channels.

Players are responsible for keeping up to date with the current rules.

***

### Not Reading the Rules

Not reading or understanding the rules is not a defence.

By playing on Coppercore, you agree to follow the rules and any reasonable staff instructions connected to them.

Translations or clarification may be requested through a support ticket.

***

### Consequences

Rule violations may result in:

* verbal guidance
* warnings
* temporary restrictions
* removal of items, currency, or unfair progress
* mutes
* kicks
* temporary bans
* permanent bans

The outcome will depend on the severity, context, previous behaviour, and impact of the violation.

**Final reminder:** If something feels dishonest, unfair, harmful, or clearly against the purpose of the server, do not do it. Ask staff first.
