# ✦ ── Spawners

Coppercore allows players to collect and use certain mob spawners through the server's **SilkSpawners** system.

Spawners can be moved and, for supported mobs, their mob type can also be changed using Spawn Eggs.

Some mobs are restricted from Spawn Egg conversion to prevent particularly powerful or problematic spawner types from being mass-created.

***

### Collecting Spawners

Eligible spawners in Coppercore's normal survival world can be collected and moved using the server's spawner system.

Once obtained, a spawner can be placed elsewhere like a normal block.

This allows players to relocate useful spawners rather than being permanently tied to the location where they originally generated.

***

### Resource World Spawners

Spawners in the **Resource World cannot be collected**.

The Resource World exists primarily for renewable gathering and exploration, so naturally generated spawners found there are intended to remain part of that world rather than becoming a source of removable spawners.

If you want to collect and relocate a naturally generated spawner, you will need to find one in the normal survival world.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Important:** The Resource World is separate from Coppercore's permanent survival world and may be treated differently by several server systems.
{% endhint %}

***

### Changing a Spawner Type

Supported Spawn Eggs can be used to change the mob type of a placed spawner.

Use the Spawn Egg on the spawner and, if that mob is permitted, the spawner will change to the corresponding mob type.

Not every Spawn Egg can be used this way.

### Restricted Spawn Eggs

The following mobs **cannot be used to change a spawner type**:

* Villager
* Iron Golem
* Wandering Trader
* Breeze
* Wither
* Witch
* Warden
* Evoker
* Vindicator
* Zombie Villager
* Elder Guardian
* Guardian
* Shulker
* Wither Skeleton

Spawn Eggs for these mobs may still exist or be available through certain server rewards, but they cannot be used to convert another spawner into that mob type.

This is for **normal Spawn Eggs only**, Safari Nets have separate limitations, you can check them out on the [Safari Nets](/coppercore-wiki/plugin-guides/storage-and-utilities/safari-nets.md) plugin page.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Owning a Spawn Egg does not automatically mean that mob is permitted for spawner conversion.
{% endhint %}

***

### Restricted Does Not Mean Unobtainable

A mob being restricted from Spawn Egg conversion does **not** mean that its spawner can never exist on Coppercore.

Certain restricted spawner types may still appear as rare rewards through crates, events or other special server systems.

For example, a Villager Spawner may be obtainable as a rare reward even though a Villager Spawn Egg cannot be used to convert another spawner into a Villager Spawner.

These rare spawners can still be placed and used normally.

Where permitted by the spawner system, they can also be collected and moved like other eligible spawners.

The restriction applies specifically to **creating that spawner type by using a Spawn Egg on another spawner**.

***

### Why Are Some Spawner Conversions Restricted?

Spawner conversion restrictions are used to keep farms and mob access balanced.

Certain mobs can provide unusually powerful resources, progression shortcuts or other advantages when players can freely convert ordinary spawners into them.

By preventing those conversions while still allowing selected rare spawners to exist as rewards, Coppercore can keep those spawner types special without removing them entirely.

Restrictions may be adjusted in the future if server balance or Minecraft mechanics change.

***

### Safari Nets & Spawners

Coppercore's **Safari Nets** can also interact with the spawner system for selected mobs.

However, Safari Nets have their own restrictions on which mobs are permitted for spawner changes.

A mob being capturable does not necessarily mean it can be used to change a spawner.

See the **Safari Nets** guide for the full list of supported mobs and how that system works.

***

### Placing Spawners

Collected or rewarded spawners can be placed like ordinary blocks.

Once placed, the spawner behaves according to its current mob type and normal server spawning rules.

Before setting up a large farm, make sure you have enough space and that the area doesn't interfere with another player's claim or build.

***

### Spawner Farms

Spawner farms are allowed as part of normal survival gameplay, provided they follow Coppercore's general server rules.

Be considerate when building particularly large or intensive farms.

If a farm causes significant server performance problems, staff may ask for it to be adjusted.

***

### Changing Your Mind

If you change a spawner to another supported mob type, make sure you're happy with the change before committing valuable Spawn Eggs or resources to the setup.

Spawner types are intended to be changed deliberately rather than treated as an unlimited free mob-selection system.

### Quick Guide

| **Action**                                                      | **Available?** |
| --------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------- |
| Collect eligible spawners in the normal survival world | Yes |
| Place collected or rewarded spawners | Yes |
| Change spawner type using supported Spawn Eggs | Yes |
| Use restricted Spawn Eggs to create their spawner type | No |
| Obtain certain restricted spawner types through special rewards | Yes |
| Collect spawners from the Resource World | No |
| Use supported Safari Nets with certain spawners | Yes |

{% hint style="info" %}
**Final reminder:** Spawners can be collected and relocated in the normal survival world, while supported Spawn Eggs can change their mob type. Restricted Spawn Eggs cannot be used for conversion, but some of those spawner types may still appear as rare server rewards.
