# ✦ ── Fish Shop, Scales & Gutting

Caught a pile of custom fish and now wondering what you're actually supposed to **do with the things?**

PyroFishing gives you three main options:

* **Sell** them for server money
* **Scale** them for a chance to increase their value
* **Gut** them to convert them into Entropy

Each option has a different purpose, so it's worth deciding what you want from a fish before immediately throwing it into the nearest menu.

***

### Fish Shop

The simplest option is selling your catches.

Open the Fish Shop with:

`/fish shop`

Place the fish you want to sell into the menu and close it to complete the sale.

The money earned is added directly to your normal server balance.

### Base Fish Values

Each custom fish rarity has a base sell value:

| **Rarity** | **Base Value** |
| ---------- | -------------- |
| Bronze     | $25            |
| Silver     | $50            |
| Gold       | $100           |
| Diamond    | $250           |
| Platinum   | $500           |
| Mythical   | $1,000         |

These are the starting values before features such as **Scales** or the current **Special Fish** affect the price.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Higher-rarity fish can be worth considerably more, so check what you've caught before selling everything at once!
{% endhint %}

***

### Special Fish

One custom fish is periodically selected as the current **Special Fish**.

While active, that fish sells for:

**1.5x its normal value**

The Special Fish changes every **6 hours**.

If you've caught the currently boosted fish, selling it while the bonus is active will earn you more money.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Check the Fish Shop before unloading your catches - you might be sitting on something that's currently worth extra.
{% endhint %}

***

### Scales

Feeling lucky?

Instead of immediately selling a fish for its normal value, you can take it to the **Scales**:

`/fish scales`

Scaling a fish gives it a random weight and changes its sell value.

Depending on the result, your fish can become **more valuable... or less valuable.** The weight shown on the fish reflects the result of that price change.

You'll first need to choose how much risk you're willing to take.

### Scale Risk Levels

Coppercore has four risk options:

| **Risk** | **Chance to Profit** | **Maximum Value Change** |
| -------- | -------------------- | ------------------------ |
| Low      | 70%                  | ±20%                     |
| Medium   | 60%                  | ±40%                     |
| High     | 50%                  | ±60%                     |
| Extreme  | 40%                  | ±80%                     |

Higher risks give you the opportunity for a much larger increase in value, but also make it more likely that the fish will **lose** value instead.

#### Low Risk

**70% chance to profit**

The fish's value can change by up to **20%**.

This is the safest option, with the highest chance of making money but the smallest possible increase.

#### Medium Risk

**60% chance to profit**

The fish's value can change by up to **40%**.

A middle-ground option with more potential reward without going completely feral.

#### High Risk

**50% chance to profit**

The fish's value can change by up to **60%**.

At this point it's a straight 50/50 on whether your financial decisions were excellent or terrible.

#### Extreme Risk

**40% chance to profit**

The fish's value can change by up to **80%**.

The largest potential reward comes with the lowest chance of actually profiting.

You have been warned.

### How to Scale a Fish

Open:

`/fish scales`

Then:

1. Place the fish you want to weigh into the Scales menu.
2. Select your preferred risk level.
3. Click the anvil to scale the fish.
4. The fish will receive its new weight and adjusted value.
5. You can then sell it through `/fish shop` or keep it as a collector item.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Scaling is a gamble. A valuable fish can come out worth **less** than when you started, especially on the higher risk settings.
{% endhint %}

***

### Is Scaling Worth It?

That depends entirely on how much risk you want to take.

If you want reliable money, simply selling a fish at its normal value is always an option.

If you're willing to risk part of its value for the chance at a larger payout, Scales can make already valuable catches worth considerably more.

There is no requirement to scale your fish before selling them.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Maybe don't immediately put the first Mythical fish you've ever caught onto Extreme Risk unless you're emotionally prepared for the consequences.
{% endhint %}

***

### Gutting Fish

The other major option is **Gutting**.

Open the Gutting Station with:

`/fish gut`

Instead of selling a fish for money, Gutting **destroys the fish and converts it into Entropy**.

This is useful when you'd rather progress through PyroFishing's upgrade systems than earn normal server money.

***

### Gutting Values

Coppercore's configured Gutting rewards are:

| Fish Rarity | Entropy |
| ----------- | ------- |
| Bronze      | 20      |
| Silver      | 60      |
| Gold        | 150     |
| Diamond     | 200     |
| Platinum    | 800     |

Mythical fish are not included in Coppercore's configured Gutting conversion table.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Gutting is permanent. Once a fish has been gutted, the fish itself is gone.
{% endhint %}

***

### Improving Gutting

There are several ways to make Gutting more effective as you progress.

#### Better Gutting

The **Better Gutting** Fishing Skill increases the amount of Entropy you receive from Gutting fish.

Investing more Skill Points into it increases the bonus.

#### Precision Cutting

The **Precision Cutting** Augment also improves the amount of Entropy received from Gutting.

Better Gutting and Precision Cutting calculate their bonuses independently.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Note:** Entropy Boosters affect Entropy earned from **catching fish**, not Entropy earned through Gutting.
{% endhint %}

***

### Sell or Gut?

Both options are useful - they simply reward different things.

#### Sell Your Fish If...

* You want normal server money
* The fish has a high sell value
* It's currently the Special Fish
* You successfully increased its value through Scales
* You don't currently need more Entropy

#### Gut Your Fish If...

* You need Entropy for PyroFishing progression
* You're saving towards Augments
* You're upgrading Deliveries or Fishing Totems
* You have skills or Augments that improve Gutting
* The fish isn't particularly valuable to you

You don't need to commit entirely to one method.

Selling valuable catches while Gutting less useful ones can be a good way to build both your normal balance and your Entropy supply at the same time.

### What Next?

Once you've decided what to do with your catches, PyroFishing's more advanced progression begins opening up.

Continue with:

**Deliveries** - complete fishing orders for additional rewards.

**Augments** - spend your resources crafting powerful upgrades for your fishing rod.

**Fishing Totems** - work towards larger permanent fishing bonuses.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Final reminder:** Selling gives you money, Gutting gives you Entropy, and Scales give you the opportunity to make an extremely questionable financial decision.
{% endhint %}
