# ✦ ── Augments

**Augments** are powerful upgrades that can be applied to your fishing rod.

They can improve almost every part of PyroFishing — from catching extra fish and earning more Entropy to increasing Fishing XP, improving Scales and helping you catch rarer fish.

Augments are a more advanced part of fishing progression and require a combination of:

* Fishing Levels
* Entropy
* Vanilla materials
* Special PyroFishing materials

You can view all available Augments using:

`/fish augments`

And manage the Augments on your fishing rod using:

`/fish augment`

***

### How Augments Work

Each Augment has:

* A required **Fishing Level**
* An **Entropy cost**
* A crafting recipe
* A maximum Augment level

Once you've crafted an Augment, it can be applied to a fishing rod through:

`/fish augment`

Applying additional copies of the same Augment increases its level until it reaches its maximum.

Higher Augment levels provide stronger effects.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** You must meet the required Fishing Level to both craft and use an Augment.
{% endhint %}

***

### Crafting an Augment

Augments aren't crafted in a normal Crafting Table.

Instead, you'll need a **Cauldron**.

To craft one:

1. Check the Augment's recipe using `/fish augments`.
2. Make sure you have the required Fishing Level.
3. Make sure you have enough Entropy.
4. Place the **exact required materials** into a Cauldron.
5. Hit the Cauldron with a **Fishing Rod**.
6. If the recipe is correct, the materials and required Entropy will be consumed and you'll receive the Augment.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Make sure you're using the correct materials and quantities. Throwing unnecessary extra items into the Cauldron may prevent the recipe from working.
{% endhint %}

***

### Applying an Augment

Once you've crafted an Augment, open:

`/fish augment`

Place your:

* Fishing Rod
* Augment

into their respective slots and confirm the augmentation.

The Augment will be consumed and added to your fishing rod.

**There is no additional Entropy charge for applying an already-crafted Augment on Coppercore.**

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Crafting the Augment is where you pay its Entropy cost. Applying it afterwards is free.
{% endhint %}

***

### Removing Augments

Augments can also be removed from a fishing rod through:

`/fish augment`

The removal option returns the Augments currently attached to the rod, allowing you to move them onto another rod.

Removing Augments costs **Entropy**, with the current cost shown directly inside the menu.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** The removal button does **not** have an additional confirmation screen. Check what you're doing before clicking it!
{% endhint %}

***

### Special Augment Materials

Some higher-level Augments require special PyroFishing materials.

#### Crab Claw

Obtained from killing **Crabs** caught while fishing.

Crabs have a **20% chance** to drop a Crab Claw.

#### Crab Scale

Also obtained from killing **Crabs**.

Crabs have a **20% chance** to drop a Crab Scale.

#### Dolphin Tail

Can be obtained from naturally spawned **Dolphins**, with a configured **70% drop chance**.

#### Squid Tentacle

Can be obtained from naturally spawned **Squids**, with a configured **10% drop chance**.

Some of these materials can also appear as rewards from **Fishing Deliveries**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** PyroFishing's special material drops are disabled for mobs spawned from Spawners.
{% endhint %}

***

### Hot Spot

**Required Fishing Level:** 10\
**Maximum Level:** 13\
**Entropy Cost:** 50,000

Hot Spot gives you a chance to catch an **additional fish from a single cast**.

It only works while it is **not raining**.

The chance increases with each Augment level:

| Level | Chance |
| ----- | ------ |
| 1     | 2%     |
| 2     | 4%     |
| 3     | 6%     |
| 4     | 8%     |
| 5     | 10%    |
| 6     | 12%    |
| 7     | 14%    |
| 8     | 17%    |
| 9     | 20%    |
| 10    | 23%    |
| 11    | 26%    |
| 12    | 28%    |
| 13    | 32%    |

#### Recipe

* 16x Glistering Melon Slice
* 32x String
* 3x Golden Apple
* 1x Oak Boat
* 4x Dolphin Tail
* 50,000 Entropy

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** When rain starts, **Call of the Storm** fills a very similar role.
{% endhint %}

***

### Call of the Storm

**Required Fishing Level:** 12\
**Maximum Level:** 5\
**Entropy Cost:** 40,000

Call of the Storm gives you a chance to catch an **additional fish from a single cast while it is raining**.

Unlike Hot Spot, it only works during rain.

| Level | Chance |
| ----- | ------ |
| 1     | 5%     |
| 2     | 15%    |
| 3     | 25%    |
| 4     | 35%    |
| 5     | 50%    |

#### Recipe

* 1x Water Bucket
* 1x Oak Boat
* 16x Cod
* 4x Lily Pad
* 4x Sponge
* 40,000 Entropy

Hot Spot and Call of the Storm therefore complement one another - one works in normal weather and the other takes over when it rains.

***

### Saturate

**Required Fishing Level:** 12\
**Maximum Level:** 5\
**Entropy Cost:** 35,000

Saturate gives you a chance to restore some of your hunger when catching fish.

| Level | Activation Chance |
| ----- | ----------------- |
| 1     | 5%                |
| 2     | 10%               |
| 3     | 20%               |
| 4     | 30%               |
| 5     | 50%               |

#### Recipe

* 16x Cooked Beef
* 1x Cake
* 12x Baked Potato
* 16x Cod
* 35,000 Entropy

This is mostly a convenience Augment, but it can be particularly useful during long fishing sessions.

***

### Sage

**Required Fishing Level:** 12\
**Maximum Level:** 10\
**Entropy Cost:** 57,500

Sage increases the amount of **Fishing XP** you earn when catching custom fish.

This affects your PyroFishing Fishing Level — not your vanilla Minecraft XP level.

At maximum level, Sage provides:

**1.425x Fishing XP**

#### Recipe

* 8x Gold Block
* 16x Crab Scale
* 16x Crab Claw
* 3x Dolphin Tail
* 4x Gunpowder
* 16x Redstone
* 16x Sugar
* 57,500 Entropy

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** If your main goal is levelling your PyroFishing profile faster, Sage is one of the most directly useful Augments.
{% endhint %}

***

### Biome Disruption

**Required Fishing Level:** 16\
**Maximum Level:** 3\
**Entropy Cost:** 60,000

Biome Disruption gives you a chance to catch a fish from a **different biome** than the one you're currently fishing in.

| Level | Chance |
| ----- | ------ |
| 1     | 15%    |
| 2     | 40%    |
| 3     | 65%    |

This can be extremely useful when working through your Fish Codex, as it gives you access to catches you wouldn't normally find in your current biome.

It does **not** bypass additional special catch requirements a fish may have.

#### Recipe

* 16x Oak Log
* 16x Snowball
* 32x Sand
* 32x Kelp
* 1x Water Bucket
* 12x Dolphin Tail
* 20x Crab Scale
* 60,000 Entropy

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** At Level 3, Biome Disruption activates on a massive **65%** of eligible catches.
{% endhint %}

***

### Precision Cutting

**Required Fishing Level:** 22\
**Maximum Level:** 8\
**Entropy Cost:** 70,000

Precision Cutting increases the Entropy you receive when **Gutting custom fish**.

| Level | Bonus Entropy |
| ----- | ------------- |
| 1     | 5%            |
| 2     | 10%           |
| 3     | 15%           |
| 4     | 20%           |
| 5     | 25%           |
| 6     | 30%           |
| 7     | 35%           |
| 8     | 40%           |

The Fishing Skill **Better Gutting** also improves Gutting rewards, but the two bonuses are calculated independently.

#### Recipe

* 1x Anvil
* 1x Diamond Sword
* 1x Iron Axe
* 16x Cobblestone
* 2x Emerald
* 3x Lapis Block
* 1x Water Bucket
* 1x Wither Skeleton Skull
* 6x Nautilus Shell
* 70,000 Entropy

This is particularly useful for players who frequently Gut unwanted catches rather than selling them.

***

### Crab Bait

**Required Fishing Level:** 25\
**Maximum Level:** 5\
**Entropy Cost:** 40,000

Crab Bait increases your chance of hooking a **Crab** while fishing.

| Level | Crab Chance Multiplier |
| ----- | ---------------------- |
| 1     | 1.05x                  |
| 2     | 1.10x                  |
| 3     | 1.20x                  |
| 4     | 1.30x                  |
| 5     | 1.50x                  |

Because Crabs can provide Crab Claws and Crab Scales, this is especially useful when gathering materials for other Augments.

#### Recipe

* 1x Water Bucket
* 10x Crab Claw
* 20x Crab Scale
* 64x String
* 40,000 Entropy

Yes, you need Crab materials to construct the thing that helps you find more Crabs.

The Crab economy is self-sustaining.

***

### Intellect

**Required Fishing Level:** 25\
**Maximum Level:** 10\
**Entropy Cost:** 50,000

Intellect increases the amount of **vanilla Minecraft XP** you receive while fishing.

This is different from Sage:

**Sage** → increases PyroFishing Fishing XP\
**Intellect** → increases normal Minecraft XP

At maximum level, Intellect provides:

**1.8x vanilla XP**

#### Recipe

* 20x Lapis Block
* 8x Book
* 8x Diamond
* 8x Emerald Block
* 16x Crab Scale
* 50,000 Entropy

***

### Perception

**Required Fishing Level:** 28\
**Maximum Level:** 7\
**Entropy Cost:** 75,000

Perception increases the **base Entropy** you earn when catching custom fish.

| Level | Entropy Multiplier |
| ----- | ------------------ |
| 1     | 1.04x              |
| 2     | 1.08x              |
| 3     | 1.12x              |
| 4     | 1.16x              |
| 5     | 1.20x              |
| 6     | 1.24x              |
| 7     | 1.28x              |

At maximum level, that's a **28% increase** to the base Entropy earned from catches.

#### Recipe

* 32x Glass
* 4x Glowstone
* 3x Turtle Egg
* 3x Nautilus Shell
* 10x Crab Claw
* 75,000 Entropy

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Entropy Boosters do not multiply the additional Entropy provided specifically by Perception.
{% endhint %}

***

### Trophy

**Required Fishing Level:** 35\
**Maximum Level:** 6\
**Entropy Cost:** 60,000

Trophy increases your chance of making a **profit when using Fish Scales**.

| Level | Additional Profit Chance |
| ----- | ------------------------ |
| 1     | +3%                      |
| 2     | +6%                      |
| 3     | +9%                      |
| 4     | +12%                     |
| 5     | +15%                     |
| 6     | +18%                     |

This makes the riskier Scales options considerably more attractive for players who regularly weigh their catches.

#### Recipe

* 32x Iron Block
* 16x Gold Block
* 12x Diamond Block
* 12x Emerald Block
* 16x Squid Tentacle
* 1x Heart of the Sea
* 60,000 Entropy

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** If your fishing strategy can be summarised as **GAMBLING**, this is your Augment.
{% endhint %}

***

### Solar Rage

**Required Fishing Level:** 35\
**Maximum Level:** 5\
**Entropy Cost:** 75,000

Solar Rage increases the amount of money you earn when selling custom fish through:

`/fish shop`

| Level | Sell Bonus |
| ----- | ---------- |
| 1     | +6%        |
| 2     | +11%       |
| 3     | +15%       |
| 4     | +19%       |
| 5     | +25%       |

At maximum level, fish sold through the Fish Shop receive a **25% value bonus**.

#### Recipe

* 8x Gold Block
* 5x Diamond Block
* 12x Emerald Block
* 10x Crab Claw
* 10x Crab Scale
* 10x Squid Tentacle
* 75,000 Entropy

This is particularly useful for players who primarily use fishing as a source of regular server money.

***

### Master Fisherman

**Required Fishing Level:** 45\
**Maximum Level:** 20\
**Entropy Cost:** 120,000

Master Fisherman is the highest-level normally craftable Augment on Coppercore.

It increases your chance of catching **higher-rarity custom fish**.

Unlike some other Augments, its internal level values shouldn't be read as literal percentage chances. Each level progressively improves the weighting towards better fish.

With **20 levels** available, Master Fisherman is designed as a major long-term upgrade for dedicated fishers.

#### Recipe

* 1x Nether Star
* 8x Ghast Tear
* 16x Crab Claw
* 16x Crab Scale
* 8x Dolphin Tail
* 12x Squid Tentacle
* 2x Heart of the Sea
* 120,000 Entropy

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Master Fisherman is expensive for a reason. It's intended as one of the major late-game goals of PyroFishing progression.
{% endhint %}

***

## Seasonal Augments

There is also a special Augment that cannot normally be crafted.

### Snow Globe

**Snow Globe** is associated with PyroFishing's seasonal **Crabmas** event.

It cannot be crafted through the normal Cauldron system.

When active, Snow Globe can randomly create a **Snow Ring** while fishing. Players fishing inside the area receive bonus:

* Entropy
* Fishing XP

The bonus benefits **everyone fishing inside the area**, not just the player who created it.

Because Snow Globe is tied to seasonal content, availability may depend on the relevant event being active.

***

### Recommended Augments

There isn't one objectively correct fishing rod build.

Different Augments suit different goals.

#### For More Money

Consider:

* **Solar Rage** - increases Fish Shop income
* **Trophy** - improves your chances when using Scales
* **Master Fisherman** - helps you find higher-rarity catches

#### For Entropy

Consider:

* **Perception** - increases Entropy from catches
* **Precision Cutting** - increases Entropy from Gutting
* **Master Fisherman** - higher-tier catches naturally provide more Entropy

#### For Faster Fishing Progression

Consider:

* **Sage** - increases Fishing XP
* **Master Fisherman** - improves catch rarity
* **Hot Spot** - chance for additional catches
* **Call of the Storm** - additional catches during rain

#### For Collecting Fish

Consider:

* **Biome Disruption** - access fish from other biomes
* **Master Fisherman** - improve your chances of higher-tier fish
* **Hot Spot / Call of the Storm** - additional catches

#### For Crab Hunting

Consider:

* **Crab Bait**

...unsurprisingly.

### What Next?

Once you've started building an Augmented fishing rod, you're well into PyroFishing's advanced progression.

Continue with:

**Fishing Totems** - create and upgrade powerful area-based fishing bonuses.

**Tournaments** - put your upgraded fishing setup to use against the rest of the server.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Final reminder:** Augments are meant to be long-term upgrades. You don't need to build a max-level rod immediately - choose the effects that suit how you like to fish and improve your rod gradually as your Fishing Level and Entropy grow.
{% endhint %}
