# ✦ ── Parties

mcMMO **Parties** allow groups of players to progress and play together.

Parties have their own levels and can unlock features such as:

* Private Party Chat
* Party Teleportation
* Alliances
* Item Sharing
* mcMMO XP Sharing

Party progression is completely separate from your personal mcMMO skill levels.

***

### Creating a Party

Use:

`/party create <name>`

to create a new party.

For example:

`/party create Miners`

You can also create a password-protected party:

`/party create <name> <password>`

The player who creates the party becomes its owner.

***

### Inviting Players

Use:

`/party invite <player>`

to invite another player.

The invited player can accept with:

`/party accept`

You can also join an available party with:

`/party join <player>`

where `<player>` is a member of the party you want to join.

Use:

`/party`

or:

`/party info`

to view your current party, its members, level and unlocked features.

***

### Leaving a Party

Use:

`/party quit`

to leave your current party.

Party owners also have access to management commands for removing members, transferring ownership, renaming or disbanding the party.

These are covered in **Commands & Glossary**.

***

### Party Levels

Parties have their own progression from **level 0 to level 10**.

Whenever a party member earns normal mcMMO XP, they also contribute towards the party's progression.

You do **not** need another party member nearby for your mcMMO XP to contribute towards your Party Level.

As the party levels up, additional cooperative features unlock.

| **Party Level** | **Feature**    |
| --------------- | -------------- |
| 1               | Party Chat     |
| 2               | Party Teleport |
| 5               | Alliances      |
| 8               | Item Sharing   |
| 10              | XP Sharing     |

Party Level **10** is currently the maximum.

***

### Party Chat

**Party Chat** unlocks at Party Level 1.

Use:

`/party chat`

to toggle Party Chat mode.

While enabled, your messages are sent to your party rather than normal public chat.

You can also use:

`/p <message>`

to send an individual Party Chat message without permanently switching chat modes.

Party Chat is only visible to members of your party.

***

### Party Teleport

**Party Teleport** unlocks at Party Level 2.

Use:

`/party teleport <player>`

to request a teleport to another member of your party.

Coppercore's Party Teleport currently has:

| **Setting**        | **Time**                     |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------- |
| Warmup             | 5 seconds                    |
| Cooldown           | 2 minutes                    |
| Combat restriction | 1 minute after taking damage |
| Request expiry     | 5 minutes                    |

The target player must accept the teleport request before you can teleport to them.

Party members can also disable incoming Party Teleport requests if they do not want other members requesting teleports to them.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** Party Teleport is an mcMMO feature and is separate from Coppercore's normal teleport commands.
{% endhint %}

***

### Alliances

**Party Alliances** unlock at Party Level 5.

An alliance connects two separate mcMMO parties.

Party owners can invite another party to form an alliance, with the other party accepting the request.

Because friendly fire is disabled, allied party members are also protected from damaging each other.

An alliance does **not** combine the two parties into one. Each party keeps its own:

* Members
* Owner
* Level
* Progression
* Settings

***

### Friendly Fire

Friendly fire between members of the same party is **disabled** on Coppercore.

This means you cannot normally damage another member of your own mcMMO party.

The same protection also applies between allied parties.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** This makes mcMMO Parties especially useful when fighting mobs or exploring dangerous areas together without accidentally introducing your friend to Sharpness V.
{% endhint %}

***

### Item Sharing

**Item Sharing** unlocks at Party Level 8.

When enabled, certain drops collected by nearby party members can be automatically distributed between the group.

Item Sharing works within a range of:

**75 blocks**

Party owners can configure different sharing categories, including:

* Loot
* Mining
* Herbalism
* Woodcutting
* Miscellaneous items

#### Item Share Modes

There are three Item Share modes:

| Mode       | Behaviour                                                                              |
| ---------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **NONE** | Items are not shared. |
| **EQUAL** | Items are distributed with the aim of keeping rewards balanced between nearby members. |
| **RANDOM** | Each shared item is given to a random nearby eligible party member. |

Use:

`/party itemshare`

to view or configure the party's Item Sharing settings.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Important:** Item Sharing can move drops away from the player who originally earned them. Make sure your party agrees on its sharing settings before turning it on.
{% endhint %}

***

### XP Sharing

**mcMMO XP Sharing** unlocks at Party Level 10.

This allows nearby party members to share mcMMO XP earned through normal skill activities.

XP Sharing works within:

**75 blocks**

When XP Sharing is set to **EQUAL**, mcMMO XP earned by one player is divided between the eligible nearby party members.

A small bonus is added to the shared XP pool to make cooperative training more worthwhile.

The share bonus can increase as more members participate, up to a maximum total multiplier of:

**1.5x shared XP**

This bonus applies to the XP being shared before it is divided between eligible players.

#### Example

If two party members are within sharing range and one earns Mining XP, both players can receive part of that Mining XP.

This means players can train mcMMO together rather than everyone needing to perform every action individually.

Party XP received through sharing can also update your normal mcMMO XP bar.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Note:** XP Sharing does not duplicate the full original XP amount for every member. The XP pool receives its sharing bonus and is then divided between eligible nearby players.
{% endhint %}

***

### Sharing Range

Both Item Sharing and XP Sharing use the same maximum range:

**75 blocks**

Only eligible party members within that distance of the player earning the XP or drops can participate in the share.

Members outside the range receive nothing from that particular shared action.

Party membership itself has no distance requirement. You can remain in the same party while travelling elsewhere.

***

### Party Size

Coppercore currently places **no maximum member limit** on mcMMO Parties.

A party can therefore grow beyond a traditional small group.

Keep in mind that sharing mechanics still use their 75-block range, so having twenty people technically in the same party does not mean twenty people across the world receive the same XP.

***

### Inactive Members

mcMMO automatically removes long-inactive players from parties.

Coppercore currently checks for inactive party members every **12 hours**.

A player who has not connected for 30 **days** may be automatically removed from their mcMMO party.

They can join or be invited back after returning.

***
