# ✦ ── Chest Shops

Shops can either **sell items to other players** or **buy items from them**, allowing you to run anything from a small roadside stall to a full player shop or marketplace. QuickShop shops are attached to physical containers and can be managed through their built-in control panel.

Coppercore also uses the **Shop Search** addon, allowing players to search for items being bought or sold across player shops without having to manually check every store.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Player shops must still follow Coppercore's economy and server rules. Do not use misleading prices, deceptive shop layouts, inaccessible shops, exploits, or other methods intended to trick players.
{% endhint %}

***

### Creating a Shop

Place the container you want to use for your shop and punch it while holding the item you want the shop to trade.

QuickShop will prompt you to enter a price in chat.

For example:

`25`

This creates the shop and sets the selected item's price to **$25**.

QuickShop automatically creates and manages the shop sign for you.

Once the shop has been created, you can open its control panel to change its settings.

***

### Selling Items

A **selling shop** sells items from your shop container **to other players**.

Stock the shop by placing the items being sold inside its container.

When another player purchases from the shop:

* the items are removed from the shop's stock
* the buyer pays the listed price
* the money is transferred through the server economy

If the shop runs out of stock, players will not be able to continue purchasing until it is refilled.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Make sure your shop stays stocked if you advertise it through a player warp or public shopping area.
{% endhint %}

***

### Buying Items From Players

Shops can also be switched into **buying mode**.

A buying shop does the opposite of a normal selling shop:

**The shop owner pays other players for items they sell into the shop.**

Open the shop's control panel and change its **Shop Mode** from selling to buying. QuickShop supports changing this directly through the shop control panel.

Buying shops require:

* enough available space in the shop container
* enough money in the shop owner's balance to pay sellers

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Pay attention to whether a shop is **buying** or **selling** before trading. The shop information will show which direction the trade is going.
{% endhint %}

***

### Using Another Player's Shop

Interact with a player shop to open its trading information.

The shop will show details such as:

* the item being traded
* the price
* whether the shop is buying or selling
* the shop owner

Follow the trade prompt to choose how much you want to buy or sell.

QuickShop also allows players to preview the actual item being traded, including its name and lore, before completing a purchase.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Preview unusual, enchanted, renamed, or custom items before purchasing them to make sure you're buying exactly what you expect.
{% endhint %}

### Managing Your Shop

To manage one of your shops, **right-click its shop sign while standing normally**.

This opens the shop's clickable **Control Panel** in chat.

From here you can manage:

* **Owner** - transfer ownership of the shop
* **Shop Mode** - switch between buying and selling
* **Price** - change the price
* **Per Bulk Amount** - change how many items are traded at once
* **History** - view transaction history
* **Remove Shop** - permanently remove the shop

To trade with a shop instead, **left-click the shop sign or shop container**.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Be careful when transferring shop ownership. Once another player owns the shop, you may no longer be able to manage it unless they give you access again.
{% endhint %}

***

### Adding Shop Staff

Shop owners can allow trusted players to help manage a shop without transferring ownership.

While looking at the shop you want to manage, use:

`/qs staff add <player>`

This adds the selected player as staff for that shop. QuickShop-Hikari officially supports shop staff through `/qs staff <add/del/list> <player>`. Shop staff can access the shop to help manage its stock.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Important:** Only add players you trust as shop staff. Staff are being given additional access to help manage your shop.
{% endhint %}

#### Viewing Shop Staff

Use:

`/qs staff list`

This shows the players currently assigned as staff for the shop you are looking at.

#### Removing Shop Staff

Use:

`/qs staff del <player>`

This removes that player's staff access from the selected shop.

Shop ownership remains with the original owner unless it is deliberately transferred separately.

### Searching for Player Shops

Use:

`/finditem`

Coppercore's Shop Search addon allows you to search QuickShop shops across the server. It supports searches by item type and item display name, and can distinguish between shops where players can buy and sell items.

To find a shop **selling an item to you**, use:

`/finditem TO_BUY <item>`

Example:

`/finditem TO_BUY diamond`

To find a shop **buying an item from you**, use:

`/finditem TO_SELL <item>`

Example:

`/finditem TO_SELL iron_ingot`

Search results are displayed through the Shop Search interface, allowing you to compare matching player shops.

***

### Removing a Shop

If you no longer want a shop, you can remove it through its control panel or looking at your shop and using:\
\
`/qs remove`

QuickShop supports shop removal through either method.

{% endhint %}
