# ✦ ── Claims & Protection

Coppercore uses claim protection tools to help keep your builds, storage, farms, animals, and land safe from griefing or unwanted access.

This section explains how to create and manage claims, give other players access, control what can happen inside your land, and check nearby claims before choosing where to build.

***

### What This Section Covers

***

#### GriefPrevention

Learn how to:

* create a claim using a golden shovel
* resize or remove a claim
* check whether land is already claimed
* earn and use claim blocks
* trust other players safely
* manage access to containers, doors, and builds
* protect unclaimed or expanding areas

***

#### Claim Flags

Some claims may support extra settings through claim flags.

These can be used to control certain behaviours inside your claim, such as:

* PvP
* mob spawning
* explosions
* fire spread
* entry permissions
* other claim-specific features

Available flags will depend on your rank.

***

#### Claim Boundaries and Nearby Builds

Players must not build or claim within **200 blocks** of another player’s claim or established build without permission.

The server map and claim inspection tools can help you check an area before settling.

***

### Important Reminders

Claiming your land is the best way to protect it, but server rules still apply to unclaimed builds.

Griefing, stealing, trapping, or interfering with another player’s property is not allowed, even when the area has not been claimed.

Be careful when trusting other players. Staff will investigate deliberate griefing or theft.
