# ✦ ── Saving & Managing Artwork

Once you’ve finished a painting, ArtMap lets you save it, preview it later, rename it, make copies, and delete it if you no longer want it.

You can also browse artwork created by other players through the ArtMap menu.

***

### Saving Your Artwork

When you’re happy with your painting, use the Paint Brush to save it.

Left-click or right-click the canvas with the Paint Brush to open the naming menu.

To save your artwork:

1. Enter the title of your artwork in the text box.
2. Check that the name is exactly how you want it.
3. Click the item in the output slot to confirm.

Artwork titles must be unique, and special characters cannot be used.

Once confirmed, your painting will be saved as an ArtMap and can be taken off the easel and used like a normal Minecraft map.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Make sure you save before breaking the easel. Breaking an easel with unsaved artwork can permanently delete the painting.
{% endhint %}

### Viewing Saved Artwork

You can browse saved artwork through:

`/artmap`

Open the Artworks section to view paintings grouped by artist.

From there, you can select a player to see the artwork they have created, then select an individual artwork to view more options.

You can browse both your own artwork and artwork made by other players.

***

### Previewing Artwork

Any saved artwork can be previewed from the ArtMap menu.

Select an artwork, then left-click the map to preview it.

Your offhand must be empty before you can preview an artwork.

The artwork will temporarily appear in your offhand so you can view the map properly. It is only a preview and is removed again when the preview ends.

This makes it easy to look through artwork without needing to own a physical copy.

***

### Making Copies of Your Artwork

You can create additional copies of artwork that you originally made.

Open your artwork through the ArtMap menu and right-click the map.

You must have at least one Empty Map in your inventory.

One Empty Map will be consumed and replaced with a copy of your artwork.

Only the original artist can make copies of their own artwork this way.

This is useful if you want multiple copies for decorating, giving to other players, or selling through player shops.

***

### Renaming Artwork

You can rename artwork that you created through the ArtMap menu.

Open your artwork and select Rename.

An anvil-style naming menu will appear, just like when saving a painting for the first time.

Enter the new title and click the output slot to confirm.

The same naming rules apply as when saving new artwork, so avoid special characters.

Other players cannot rename your artwork.

***

### Deleting Artwork

You can also permanently delete artwork that you created.

Open the artwork through the ArtMap menu and select Delete.

ArtMap will show a confirmation menu before anything is removed.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Be careful when deleting artwork! Deleting an artwork removes the artwork itself from ArtMap, including every copy of that artwork in the world. Only delete something if you’re completely sure you no longer want it to exist.
{% endhint %}

### Selling & Sharing Artwork

Once you have a physical copy of one of your ArtMaps, you can:

• Display it in item frames around the world\
• Give copies to other players\
• Trade artwork with friends\
• Sell artwork through player shops just like other items

If you plan to sell your art, remember that you’ll need to make copies using Empty Maps first.

### Displaying Art with Invisible Item Frames

ArtMaps work perfectly with the server’s invisible item frame feature!

You can place your finished artwork into an item frame, then use ArmorStandEditor to make the frame invisible for a much cleaner display by right clicking in the air with a piece of flint and selecting the item frame!

This is great for things like:

• Wall art\
• Posters and signs\
• Gallery displays\
• Small build details\
• Framed artwork without the visible item frame border
