# ✦ ── Economy Basics

Coppercore has a player-focused economy designed around long-term progression and community trading. Most buying and selling takes place through player-run shops.

***

### Starting Balance

Every player begins with:

```
$500
```

You can check your current balance with:

```
/balance
```

or:

```
/bal
```

### Player Shops

#### Creating a Shop

1. Place a chest.
2. Put the item you want to sell inside.
3. Left-click the chest while holding the item.
4. Enter the price in chat when prompted.

Your shop will then be created as a **selling shop**. Keep the chest stocked so players can continue buying from it. You can also change the shop mode, price, name, and other settings through commands.

#### Buying from a Shop

Left-click a player shop sign to open the purchase options, then type in chat how many items you want to buy. You can also preview the exact item before purchasing it through a chat pop-up.

#### Finding an Item

Use:

```
/finditem TO_BUY/TO_SELL <item>
```

to search for player shops selling or buying that item. The FindItem addon searches through chestshops and helps point you toward matching listings.

### Jobs

Jobs are one of the main ways to earn money while playing normally.

Available jobs include:

* Builder
* Digger
* Explorer
* Farmer
* Hunter
* Miner
* Woodcutter

View the available jobs with:

```
/jobs browse
```

Join a job with:

```
/jobs join <job>
```

View your current jobs and progress with:

```
/jobs stats
```

Leave a job with:

```
/jobs leave <job>
```

Each job rewards different activities, such as mining, building, farming, exploring, or defeating mobs.

### Quests

Coppercore has custom quests that reward players for completing different objectives.

These may involve:

* gathering resources;
* exploring;
* farming;
* defeating mobs;
* completing server activities;
* speaking to NPCs.

Quest rewards may include money, Copper Coins, items, or other useful rewards.

### Selling Items

Some resources can be sold directly to the server.

Use:

```
/sellgui
```

to open the selling menu, or use any other selling commands shown in-game.

Only selected items can be sold, and prices are balanced to prevent easy money exploits.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Tip:** Check player shops before selling to the server shop. You may find a better deal while supporting another player’s business.
{% endhint %}

### Auction House

The Auction House allows players to buy and sell items with each other.

Open it with:

```
/ah
```

To list the item in your hand:

```
/ah sell <price>
```

Always check the item and price carefully before confirming a listing.

### Copper Coins

Copper Coins are a separate server currency used for certain rewards, shops, cosmetics, or special features.

They can be earned through things such as:

* voting;
* quests;
* events;
* crates;
* progression rewards.

Your normal money balance and Copper Coin balance are separate.

***

### Voting

Voting helps support Coppercore and gives rewards in return.

Use:

```
/vote
```

to view the available voting links.

Voting can reward:

* money
* Copper Coins
* claim blocks
* Vote Keys
* vote-rank progress

### Server Shop

The server shop is available for basic items and emergency purchases when you can’t find what you need from another player.

However, many items will be **buy-only** and cannot be sold back to the server. Selling options will be limited so that player shops remain the main part of the economy.

**Tip:** Check player shops before using the server shop. You may find better prices while supporting another player’s business.
{% endhint %}
