# ✦ ── Discord Verification

To access the full Coppercore SMP Discord server, you’ll need to link your Minecraft account to your Discord account.

Verification helps protect the community from spam accounts, bots, and impersonation, while making sure each Discord member is connected to a legitimate Minecraft account.

Verification works the exact same for both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition players.

***

### How to Verify

1. Join the Coppercore SMP Minecraft server.
2. Run the command:

```
/discord link
```

3. Copy the verification code shown in Minecraft chat.
4. Open Discord, find the **Coppercore SMP bot** in the sidebar or the **#how-to-verify** channel, then send the verification code to it in a direct message.

Once verified, you’ll automatically receive the **Player** role and gain full access to the Discord server and community chats.

### Having Trouble?

If verification fails or the bot does not accept your code, you’ll still have access to the ticket channel.

Open a support ticket and a member of staff will help you complete the process.

**You only need to verify once.** Your link is tied to your Minecraft account, so changing your username should not require you to link again.
