# ✦ ── Claims & Homes

Protecting your builds is one of the most important things to do when settling down on Coppercore. Claims prevent other players from breaking blocks, opening containers, or interfering with your base,

***

### Creating a Claim

Coppercore uses **GriefPrevention** for land protection.

To create a claim:

1. Hold a **golden shovel**.
2. Right-click one corner of the area you want to protect.
3. Walk to the opposite corner.
4. Right-click again.

The area between those two points will become your claim.

You can use:

```
/kit claim
```

to receive a replacement golden shovel and inspection stick if you lose them.

***

### Checking Claims

Hold a **stick** and right-click a block to inspect the area.

This will show whether the land is claimed and who owns it. It is especially useful when checking whether a nearby build belongs to another player before settling close by.

***

### Extending a Claim

To expand an existing claim:

1. Hold your golden shovel.
2. Stand anywhere inside the claim and face the direction you want to extend it.
3. Use:

`/expandclaim <number of blocks>`

Example:

`/expandclaim 20`

The claim will extend by that number of blocks in the direction you are facing.

**Note:** You must have enough available claim blocks to cover the expanded area.
{% endhint %}

***

### Claim Blocks

Claims use claim blocks to determine how much land you can protect.

You will gain more claim blocks as you play, and additional claim blocks will also be available through voting, rewards, ranks, and crates.

Larger claims require more claim blocks, so it can be helpful to start small and expand later.

***

### Trusting Other Players

You can give other players different levels of access to your claim.

```
/trust <player>
```

Allows the player to build, break blocks, and interact inside your claim.

```
/containertrust <player>
```

Allows the player to access containers, animals, buttons, doors, and other interactable blocks, but does not allow building.

```
/accesstrust <player>
```

Allows the player to use basic interactable blocks such as doors, buttons, and levers.

```
/untrust <player>
```

Removes that player’s access from your claim.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Only trust players you are comfortable sharing access with.
{% endhint %}

### Homes

Players begin with **2 home slots**, allowing you to save multiple useful locations.

Set a home with:

```
/sethome <name>
```

Return to it with:

```
/home <name>
```

View your saved homes with:

```
/homes
```

Remove a home with:

```
/delhome <name>
```

For example:

```
/sethome base/sethome mine
```

You can then return using:

```
/home base
```

Additional home slots may be unlocked through vote ranks or store ranks.

{% hint style="danger" %}
Building in an unclaimed area is always a risk. Griefing is punishable on Coppercore, but claiming your base early is the best way to keep your builds and items safe.
